How can you tell if you are using diverse references and resources? There are some tools out there to help but note that these are imperfect. You may get a sense of the ethnic, racial, and gender diversity of your references, but other aspects of diversity such as gender, sexual identity, and disability may not be discernable. The best way to increase the diversity of your citations is to expand where you look for information about your research area and realizing that there are multiple ways that knowledge is produced.
