Learning Objectives:
Learn what a StoryMap is and its capabilities
Access the Esri ArcGIS suite and create a StoryMap
Understand and replicate basic components of a StoryMap
Adapt and plan a project using the platform

Introduction to Scopus (online workshop)
Learn all about using our new citation database, Scopus. Open to students, faculty and staff, in this workshop we’ll tour the database features; get familiar with the Researcher Discovery tool; and practice searching for articles, authors, discipline-specific journals and their rankings.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. All registrants will get a copy of the workshop recording.

Learn how the Census Bureau defines two different measures of poverty, about the datasets available to measure poverty, and about the numerous data tools to explore poverty by geographic areas and demographic groups. We practice how to access poverty briefs and reports, poverty data tables, and microdata.

Census Workshop: Community Resilience
Explore the Community Resilience Estimates (CRE) data products and tools, including the My Community Explorer interactive map. Launched in the Summer of 2020, the CRE tracks how socially vulnerable every single neighborhood in the United States is to the impacts of disasters. Learn how to use PUMS, the Household Pulse Survey and Current Population Survey to dig deeper into specific CRE facets.

Census Workshop: Housing & Real Estate
Learn how to use economic and demographic sources to access detailed local housing statistics on value, heating sources, occupancy, renter demographics and more. We will also learn how to use American Community Survey (ACS) estimates to show housing cost ratios and the level of housing cost burden for renters and owners and how that varies between certain geographies.

Learn how to compare and summarize labor force and employment data through the LEHD OnTheMap data tool by assessing labor force and employment related comparisons to creating reports and maps. Will also demonstrate how to access the Business Trends and Outlook Survey (BTOS), Household Pulse Survey, Current Population survey, Center for Economic Studies working papers and more.
