ArcGIS StoryMaps

Interactive digital storytelling tool

Welcome!

StoryMaps is an application within ArcGIS, a geographic information system software from Esri, with numerous functions and applications.  You have free access to it as an Oxy student, faculty, or staff!  If you want to try it, send us an email at tlrs@oxy.edu so we can activate your account.

What is StoryMaps?

StoryMaps is a digital storytelling tool that uses text, maps, embedded content, multimedia, and more to create an interactive narrative that can illustrate the results of a research project, present a historical chronology, function as an interactive exhibit, or provide geographic context to any project.  Once created, a StoryMap can have different levels of privacy (you alone, your organization, or everyone) and it can be shared on socal media or via embed codes or links.
