The Oxy Librarians created a stand-alone Canvas module on AI Literacy to provide students with an overview of generative AI technology and encourage critical thinking around generative AI use. Titled "AI Literacy at Oxy," the module takes about 45 minutes for a student to complete, including four short Knowledge Check quizzes.
Faculty can embed the module into their own Canvas courses using the Canvas Commons.
To get to Canvas Commons, log into Canvas and then click on the "Commons" button on the left-hand side menu.
In Commons, search for "AI Literacy" and look for Oswald with the Occidental College Approved checkmark. Click on the "AI Literacy at Oxy" module link.
Open the module and click on the "Import/Download" button.
Select the course in which you'd like to embed the AI Literacy module and click "Import into Course."
The "AI Literacy at Oxy" module will populate at the bottom of your course home page.
