Did you know Oxy library has multiple Read and Publish agreements with journals and publishers?
Read and Publish agreements, also know as Transformative agreements, are agreements negotiated between our library and publishers where the subscription costs for the access to read the journal articles also covers the cost of Oxy authors to publish open access articles in these journals.

OxyScholar is Oxy's Institutional Repository
What is it?
OxyScholar is a platform for digital scholarly work created and curated by students, faculty, and staff of Occidental College, designed to collect, preserve, and provide open-access to Oxy scholarly projects and research.
How can you participate?
In order to contribute, Oxy library will need to create a depositor account for you. Please contact us at library@oxy.edu to get started. Take a look at the OxyScholar webpage to get an overview on types of materials and file formats accepted.
Why use OxyScholar?
So that you can publish open access for free and retain the copyright of your research and/or article! Publishers are still trying to make a profit, even while saying they are complying with open access. Take a look at the response from COAR (Confederation of Open Access Repositories) to a recent fee imposed by ACS (American Chemical Society) for repository deposits.
