Library Award Details

The Library Award for the Summer Research Project is created to recognize excellent research and use of library resources.

Eligibility: The Library Research Award is for students participating in the Undergraduate Summer Research Program.

Prompt: Tell us a story of how you’ve utilized library resources as a tool for success in your Summer Research Project. Also, reflect on your plans for how you might use the library to find success in the future at Oxy.

Requirements: Write an essay and incorporate at least 2 services or resources (listed below), one of which must be at Oxy.

  • Service and resource examples:
    • Interlibrary loan 
    • research consultations
    • tech lending
    • Special Collections and College Archives
    • specific databases
    • library materials
    • online chat
    • email support

Double space, 2 pages max (500 - 1000 word count), follow your preferred citation style

Prize: 1st place equivalent to $200
Honorable mention equivalent to $50
