The College Archives document the institutional history of Occidental College, founded in 1887 in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. In 1914, the College relocated to its current campus in Eagle Rock.
The archives include a wide range of materials related to student life, academics, administration, and campus culture. Collections feature yearbooks (La Encina), student newspapers (The Occidental), course catalogs, photographs, club records, scrapbooks, event posters, and more.
These materials support research into Oxy’s evolving identity over time, from student activism and academic trends to campus development and governance. Materials are available for in-person research by appointment.
