Finding Scores and Recording in the Library Catalog

Music materials circulate the same as materials from the Clapp Library, and can be checked out at the Library Circulation desk during open hours. It is the borrower's responsibility to renew and return items on time. Materials in the Library are arranged by Call Number. Music scores are in the general stacks and sound recordings are in a closed-stacks area. All Music Materials are listed in OASys.

One of the best ways to search is the Advanced Keyword Search, which is an option from the main keyword search tab.

  • In order to limit your search to scores, look for the filter Material Type, and select Music.
  • In order to limit your search to sound recordings, under Material Type, select Sound Recording.
    • To refine your search to compact discs, try using 1982 in the "Year: After" box.
