Leganto

How-to guide for Leganto, a reading list management application

What does Leganto look like in your Moodle course?

Leganto is currently configured on our Moodle site as an External Tool.  In the future we hope to install it as a block, which may be easier to use, but for now it looks something like this:

Once added, clicking on that link should open up the Leganto interface...

...at which point you'll be able to start compiling your reading/reserves list for your course.

How to add the Leganto External Tool to your Moodle course

1. Go to your Moodle course and click on the 'Turn Edit On' button so it turns from green to red:

Click the Turn Edit On button

2. Find a topic where you'd like to locate your list and click "Add an activity or resource":

Click Add an Activity or Resource

3. From the list of available resources choose 'External Tool':

4. This will open up an "Add New External Tool" menu.  Find the drop-down menu called "Preconfigured Tool" and choose "Leganto Reading List":

5. You'll also need to put a name in the 'Activity name" field -- this is just how the link to Leganto will read in your course topic.  "Reading List" or "Leganto" are popular choices.

6. Click 'Save And Return to Course."
