OneSearch: Step One For Library Research

How to effectively use the library's search tool, which covers many of our resources in a single search.

Why should I log-in to OneSearch?

When you sign into OneSearch (using your MyOxy credentials), you are able to:

  • Request items from the library not available physically at Occidental College
  • Access certain subscription resources only available to community members
  • Add items or search queries to your My Lists, so that you can locate these later
  • Set up an alert to automatically send you an email when OneSearch finds new items based on your search criteria (including keyword searches and any filters you specify)

What is "My Account"?

Once you are logged into OneSearch, you can find information about the following:

  • Library Loans (physical items that you have checked-out)
  • Requests for materials that are in-process
  • Fines and fees for any overdue materials
  • Any blocks or messages on your account
  • Basic account information
  • Option to change language on interface
  • Drop-down menu: Favorites and Search History option (you can delete or save search history)
